Today we got up at 5 a.m. to go to the Laurance S. Rockefeller Preserve in Grand Teton National Park. (There is limited parking so we wanted to make sure to get in before the lot filled up.) We hiked through forest and meadow around Phelps Lake. This is a very peaceful and pretty place, but overall not among my favorite hikes. (Competition here for “most beautiful hike” is fierce.)
After that, following significant negotiations, Phil and I decided to hike up the southwestern side of Jenny Lake to Hidden Falls and Inspiration Point and then take the boat shuttle back across the lake to the parking lot. Both of these had beautiful views, but I would suggest completing them in early morning for more solitude. We got there in mid-afternoon, and the trails were packed since there is a round-trip boat option that many people take advantage of. The falls and overlook were worth our hike up nonetheless.
Afterwards, we took a little scenic drive, including a trip up to the top of Signal Mountain, which does, in fact, have fairly good cell phone signal for the area.
I love being able to stay up to date on your journey guys, so cool. I miss and love both of you guys. Stay safe, have amazing adventures. I look forward to reading each update. I can’t wait until we get to hang out again.
